Abies Nordmanniana “Golden Spreader” is a dwarf quite dense squat cone of about 3’ after many years. It begins life as a low slow growing shrub spreading horizontally. It is blazing school bus yellow in the winter. I am surprised every winter by the intensity of the yellow. It doesn’t look real. It takes the place of those bright perennials and hosta that are so absent in winter. Just an amazing little trick! Part sun. Fades to pale green in summer. Rated at USDA Zone 6.
